Ms. Amy Schlater
Albert Einstein said, “I never teach my pupils, I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn.”
These conditions for learning were presented to me in many ways. Upon graduating from high school I started my college route at Centenary College in New Jersey. There I received my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Next it was on to East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Then I was off to work!
My teaching career started with teaching kindergarten in New Jersey where I taught for four years. I moved to New Mexico and jumped a grade teaching first grade for seven years. Then I moved to Ohio and stayed home to raise my son. My traveling years were over once I found Tulpehocken Area School District and Bethel Elementary. At Bethel I started off teaching fifth grade then sixth grade. After a few years n sixth grade it's back to fifth grade where I enjoy providing my students with opportunities to learn and expand their abilities.
I love to learn as much as I love to teach and have continued my education by earning a Master’s Degree in Educational Development & Strategies from Wilkes University.
