Mr. Thomas L. Kowalonek joined the Tulpehocken Area School District in 2009.  Prior to his appointment as the Chief Financial Officer at Tulpehocken, Mr. Kowalonek served as Business Manager at both Shenadoah Valley School District and North Schuylkill School District.  He has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Lehigh University and attended the Central Atlantic Advanced School of Banking at Bucknell University.   Mr. Kowalonek brings with him a wealth of knowledge from his years in the banking and financial services industry.  

Mr. Kowalonek has been a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials for over 25 years.

As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Kowalonek is committed to ensuring that all students have access to high-quality programs and services at Tulpehocken Area School District through a fiscally conservative approach.  During his tenure at Tulpehocken, Mr. Kowalonek has been able to craft budgets that called for multiple property tax decreases.
