Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Holly Jo Torres

Name: Mrs. Holly Jo Torres

Building: Bethel Elementary

I Teach: 5th and 6th Grade Learning Support

About Me:

I have the privilege to enter my 19th year in education. I taught Special Education at Governor Mifflin High School for 16 years prior to my time at Tulpehocken. One of my best educational experiences was student teaching in Croatia. Through the years, I have coached junior high girls’ volleyball and a co-ed air rifle team comprised of high school students.

I graduated from Schuylkill Valley in 2000. In 2004, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Lock Haven University with a minor in International Studies. In 2010, I graduated from Kutztown University with a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

When I am not at school, I spend time traveling with my husband or going to Cape May.  I enjoy time with our kids and family.  Quilting and sewing are favorite pastimes.

Relationships are important to me.  I welcome and value student and parent involvement during the year. As Magic Johnson said, “All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and somebody who believes in them.”
